Uplands Restoration exists to return degraded land in Kazakhstan to biodiverse forest, and to convert that restoration into long-term, high-integrity carbon removals and lasting environmental benefit.

Vision

The forest-steppe, restored at scale

Degradation in the Kazakh Uplands has removed tree cover and weakened the ecological structure of the forest-steppe. Restoring it requires patience, technical discipline and a horizon measured in decades rather than seasons.

We plan and implement afforestation that reflects those conditions: native species matched to site, planting patterns that rebuild habitat connectivity, and management designed to carry young forest through its most vulnerable years.

Carbon is the mechanism that makes restoration of this scale financeable. By developing the project to recognised standards, we align environmental outcomes with the requirements of institutional investors, carbon-market participants and strategic partners.
